Our research team will analyse social welfare and health care service structures, accessibility of care, care pathways as well as the outcomes, costs and cost-effectiveness of care, both before the health and social services reform and after it.

As data sets will be used an extensive range of national registers for social welfare and health care services, spatial information and regional patient information systems.
On the basis of the results, we will prepare models and planning tools to support the health and social services reform. The ‘Siun sote’ joint municipal authority in North Karelia and Kainuu region are the project’s regional partners.
